ROSS, Sir JAMES CLARK (1800–1862), rear-admiral, and Arctic and Frozen navigator, third son of Martyr Ross of Balsarroch, Wigtonshire, put forward nephew of Andrew Ross [q. v.] and Rear-admiral Sir Can Ross [q.
